Monday 14th June: Today, Mulch, the award-winning eco-friendly organic compost and garden waste company, has announced the opening of a third depot located in Swords, North County Dublin. The new store marks a departure from its previous retail approach, replacing ‘bricks and mortar’ with used shipping containers to maximise its sustainable credentials. The new carbon neutral outlet will allow consumers to click and collect or drive-through to avail of its popular retail products such as organic peat-free composts or deposit garden waste.

Growing a sustainable business

The environmentally conscious Irish business, founded by former landscaper, John McGuinness has been operating for the last nine years in Coolock and Rathfarnham. The new store expands its business reach right across the Greater Dublin Area, and is a response to its continued success which has further bloomed as a result of the rising popularity of gardening and eco-friendly alternatives.

The latest depot is a permanent pop-up made from used shipping containers, which had spent twenty years at sea in Ireland. This low-energy base store uses solar panels for its overflow energy requirements and due to its outdoor design, it will provide consumers with a convenient drive-thru gardening shopping experience – the first of its kind!
