Follow: Social Media accounts for keeping up with the climate crisis

Further to our ‘A-Z of Climate Resources’, we have put together this list of just some of our favourite social media accounts to follow that share news, insights, information, events, actions and more in relation to the climate crisis.

1.     Future Earth is a community and online platform that seeks to inspire meaningful engagement with the climate crisis through education on social media. One to follow for a feed filled with informative posts, good news, articles, community engagement, activations and more.

2.    The Guardian never failing to call out the facts, follow the Guardian for the latest climate crisis news, comments and analysis.

3.    Greenpeace the place to keep up with some of the latest actions, petitions and movements in tackling climate change. Feel informed and inspired by the actions taken by this group of concerned individuals as they fight for their vision of a greener, healthier and more peaceful planet, one that can sustain life for generations to come.

4.    Climate Love Ireland a little closer to home, Climate Love Ireland is a community-led non-profit organisation dedicated to connecting Climate Lovers to nature and local climate action. Follow for events, information, community actions, petitions and more.

5.    Climate Ambassador Programme An Taisce's Environmental Education Unit programme for climate change and climate action in Ireland. Established in 2017, the Climate Ambassador Programme is Ireland’s first ever initiative to train and support individuals taking action on climate change. Not only do they share valuable information, events, and actions on their social account, but it leads you to even more great content from this team on their podcast and webinar sessions.

6.    Creatives for Climate this global network brings thousands of storytellers and sustainability experts together in a commitment to use creativity for good. A good one to follow for those working in the creative space concerned about the climate crisis, providing ideas, inspiration and events.

7.    Stories of Change this account takes a creative approach to climate change, through story-telling, showing solutions and celebrating people.

8.    UN Climate Change the UN agency tasked with addressing the climate emergency, calling on people everywhere to work together to solve climate challenges and realise the commitments of the 2015 Paris Agreement. Follow this account to keep up with news & actions taken by governments, businesses, civil society, youth and more in every part of the world. And not to forget, some of the most inspirational speeches from UN Secretary General António Guterres.
