Thursday 18th March 2021: Golden Bake, Ireland’s leading frozen bakery retail brand, celebrates its third National Jambon Day! The annual feast-day honours the iconic cheesy, flaky, puff pastry delicacy which Irish people cannot get enough of!

Jambon: Irish for comfort food

According to Golden Bake, a staggering 20 million Jambons were enjoyed by Irish consumers throughout 2020 – cementing the product’s status as the favourite Irish comfort food! This equates to:

  • One Jambon being consumed every one and a half seconds! Yes every – one a half seconds!

  • Enough Jambons that if placed side-by-side would stretch to outer space and back 10 times!

  • Enough Jambons to fill Croke Park 250 times!

National Jambon Day is a light-hearted annual celebration of Ireland’s favourite comfort food. The Jambon has a special place in the Irish psyche and we are constantly hearing from customers about their love for the product. We are honoured to be the home of the Jambon and have recently expanded our range to include Pepperoni Pizza Jambons, Chicken Fajita Jambons as well as a Curried Cauliflower Vegan Jambon so there is a Jambon for every taste bud this National Jambon Day!”.

National Jambon Day

Golden Bake is encouraging Irish families to share a golden moment throughout National Jambon day, and enjoy its convenient bake-at-home Jambon range.

Once a cult item at hot deli counters nationwide, the rising popularity of Jambons throughout the last decade encouraged Golden Bake to introduce a frozen product range in 2012 which allows consumers to recreate the deli experience at home and enjoy tasty hot Jambons from their own ovens!
