Kate’s Kitchen Sligo harnesses the potential of online sales and gifting range to reach national market

4th October 2021: Kate’s Kitchen, the fine foods, grocery and gift store in the heart of Sligo town, is today launching a new range of premium gift hampers which will be available for delivery right across the country. The move comes as the business experienced a surge in interest in online sales and gift deliveries reflecting changing consumer habits over the last 18 months.
The range* includes “The Kitchen’ which is ‘packed full of all the best cooking necessities you need and deserve in your life’; ‘The Warrior’ which ‘will help you conquer any outdoor activity you set your mind to’; and the ‘Bosca Bia’ which is a ‘box of delicious Irish treats’. *(Full list in notes to editor)
Kate’s Kitchen was founded in 1982 by Kate Pettit and Frank Hopper and was take over by the O’Hara Sisters, Kate, Jane and Beth when they were just 26, 22 and 20 in 2008.
Kate O’Hara said, “Looking back at our thirteen years in business we can see now that we have come so far. We had to learn on our feet and develop a strong network of suppliers in order to remain true to our commitment to always stock the best of everything. The last 18 months was certainly challenging, but we also learned a huge amount about changing consumer priorities, and we became even more aware of the strong market for online sales and delivery on a national level.
We could see how keen people were to treat their loved ones who they could not visit with a gift, and although the country is opening up we are seeing this trend continue as we become more accustomed to remote ways of living and flexible ways of working. We have welcomed this opportunity to refine and enhance our gift offering and we are really proud of our newly developed hamper range.”
The Best of Everything The luxurious themed gift hampers contain a range of artisan foods, homewares and beauty products which come packaged in a premium ‘Kate’s Kitchen’ gift box with personalised handwritten notes.
The premium gift hampers aim to capture the shop’s ethos which is to offer “The Best of Everything”.
