Chip Chip Hooray! Romayo’s to partner with Bord Bia Quality Assured potato growers, Flynns in local sourcing initiative 

Whether they are baked, air-fried or deep-fried, Bord Bia is encouraging consumers to ensure that the potatoes they enjoy – at home or from the chip-shop - are locally grown this National Potato Day (Friday October 7th). Starting this week, Romayo’s, the Italian-Irish chain of 21 traditional chip-shops around Dublin will engage in a pilot project to display the Bord Bia Quality mark to call out their local, Quality Assured, potato suppliers, Paud Flynn & Sons, who have been farming in North Co Dublin for over 100 years.

A Taste For Success – Food Works Celebrates 10 years

Food Works, Ireland’s leading accelerator programme for early-stage food and drink companies, has helped raise over €6.5m in funding for participants in last 10 years. The programme, which combines the resources of three government agencies - Bord Bia, Enterprise Ireland and Teagasc - has been a fundamental driver of innovation and entrepreneurship in the sector in the last decade. The funding was accessed through High-Potential Start-Up fund investments (HPSU); Competitive Start-Up Funding (CSF) investments and feasibility grants supplied by Enterprise Ireland. Food Works is currently seeking applications from high-potential, ambitious start-up food and drink businesses to take part in the 2023 programme.

Meath. This development sees the brand build on its position as the largest grower of salad leaves in Ireland to also become the largest Irish producer of organic spinach, and it marks a new venture for the company into organic farming.
